Week 1 Top offensive performer is Keonte Springs of Madison high school. Keonte lead the Warhawks to a 34-23 victory over Rancho Bernardo. Springs had 455 all-purpose yards, 286 yards rushing on 19 carries with 4 touchdowns and 169 yards receiving on 8 receptions.
Keonte gives all the credit to his linemen up front, “I had success because my line did their job. Without them it wouldn’t be possible for me to do those things.” The performance also warranted recognition from Keonte’s offensive line coach Jorge Reyes. Reyes raved about Keonte’s growth as a leader and athlete, “Keonte has been a great leader for us this offseason. He’s remained positive and has motivated his teammates to work hard and play as one. One family.”
The performance marks the second straight year the Warhawks beat the Broncos on opening night. Next week the Warhawks host Steele Canyon in the home opener (9/30 @6:30 pm).
